Factory boiler explosion kills five people in Kasur

KASUR: Five people were killed and nine others were severely wounded as boiler of a factory, situated in Kasur district, exploded here on Saturday. According to the police, the incident took place in the area of Phool Nagar. The boiler explosion claimed lives of five labourers and injured nine others. The injured were rushed to a nearby medical facility in critical condition by the rescue teams. Identities of the dead and injured could not be ascertained , according to the initial reports. LAHORE: A special court for narcotics control on Friday rejected prosecution’s plea to hold day to day proceedings into a case against Pakistan Mulsim League (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah for allegedly carrying drugs, ARY NEWS reported. The court issued a two-page written verdict and said that there are no past examples of day to day proceedings and the cases are set in the courtroom as per the followed routine. The registrar of narcotics control court has informed that there are 220 pending trials in the court, the judge remarked. Coronavirus: Death toll in China jumps to 2,788

BEIJING: China reported 44 more deaths from the novel coronavirus epidemic on Friday and 327 fresh cases, the lowest daily figure for new infections in more than a month. The death toll now stands at 2,788 in mainland China, according to the National Health Commission. The number of fatalities — which is up from the 29 reported on Thursday — were all in Hubei province, the epicentre of the outbreak, except for two deaths in Beijing. ISLAMABAD: The Met Office has forecast a spell of rainfall with Wind or thunderstorm from Thursday to Saturday in the country, ARY News reported on Wednesday. Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches on Friday and Saturday at Rawalpindi, are likely to be disturbed due to rainfall, weather report said. Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET Office) has informed that a westerly weather system is likely to enter upper parts of the country on Thursday evening and persist till Saturday. Under the influence of this weather system rainfall is expected, with hailstorm at few places and snowfall over the hills, in Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Charsadda, Swabi, Mardan, Kurram and Kohat regions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwwa from Thursday to Saturday and in Bannu, D I Khan from Thursday evening to Friday.
