Lightning kills three in Skardu

SKARDU: Lightning killed at least five people and gutted seven houses in Skardu, an area of Gilgit Baltistan, ARY News reported on Thursday.

As per details, lightning hit a village of district Shaggar, Skardu, resulting in the death of five including three children on the spot.

Getting information about the dreadful incident rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the bodies to a nearby medical facility.

“Apart from human loss, lightning also damaged seven houses in the area”, the rescue teams said.

In a separate incident of lightning, a man lost his life in Balochistan’s district of Sherani, three days earlier.

In the month of April, a teenage girl was killed while over two dozen people suffered injuries in rain-related incidents in Jhang district of Punjab province.

According to rescue sources, a 14-year-old girl lost her life while 32 other people suffered wounds after being struck by lightning in Athara Hazari.

The victims were working in fields when they were hit by lightning strikes.
