ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership has conditioned its participation in the opposition’s all parties conference (APC) convened by Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman.

The differences between two major opposition parties – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) – have turned the prospects of a successful APC bleak.

As per sources, in order to patch up with the PPP, the leadership of PML-N has put forward the need to restore trust as its foremost precondition.

The former ruling party was enraged over the recent statement of PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, in which he held PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif responsible for the cases against PPP leaders. According to sources, such remarks are a bone of contention between the two parties.

Furthermore, the sources told that the PML-N has showed its reservation on Zardari’s style of politics and has reportedly sought explanation from the former president regarding his role in toppling Balochistan’s government and Senate elections.

The PML-N has demanded from the leadership of PPP to first take steps to mend the trust deficit developed in the wake of recent political scenario.

A day earlier, the Sharif brothers – Nawaz and Shehbaz – decided against attending the all parties conference hosted by Jamiat Ulema Islam-F chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman.

Nonetheless, a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will attend the APC.
